Printing tips for the best results

Paper size: every PDF is set for US Letter (8.5 × 11 in). If you print on A4, choose “Fit to page” so nothing gets cut off.

Paper type: regular 20 lb copy paper is fine for crayons. For markers, use 65 lb or heavier cardstock to stop bleed-through. Colored pencils look richer on smooth cardstock.

Ink saving: these are line art only, with no gray fill, so they use very little ink. Choose “Draft” or “Eco” mode if your printer has it.

Many copies: print one, then photocopy it. That’s faster and cheaper than printing a class set.

Thin lines look broken? You’re probably printing below 100%. Choose “Actual size” or “100%” instead of “Shrink.”

What to do with finished coloring pages

  • Stickers: color, cut out and stick onto contact paper or printable sticker paper.
  • Cards: fold cardstock in half, glue the picture to the front and write a note inside.
  • Placemats: laminate a finished scene (or use clear contact paper) for a wipe-clean placemat.
  • Garland: cut out characters, punch a hole and string them up for a party.
  • Story puppets: tape cut-out characters to craft sticks and put on a show.
  • Gift tags: use the small sheets (strawberry, cocoa mug, ghost) as tags for presents.

Why coloring is good for kids (and grown-ups)

Coloring builds the small hand muscles kids later use for writing, and practices staying inside lines and choosing colors on purpose. For older kids and adults, it’s a calm, screen-free break. Pick a simple sheet for a quiet afternoon or a detailed one for a long, cozy session.
